Having studied Fine Art both at The University of Leeds and Leeds College of Art and Design, Rachel considers the immediate environment a substantial source of impact for her pieces. Working on paper and canvas, using ink, watercolour, acrylic and wax, Rachel is never certain how each piece will be resolved or what the end-product will be since they are not planned. Each is an individual journey and by that an expedition into the unknown. Rachel always aspires to an element of grace and flow of line. Harmony, elegance of colour and the balance and complexity of organic patterns are intrinsic. Forms and contours have an instinctive draw, work may look obviously abstract to the naked eye, but by using a circle or spiral, the scale and delicacy of the work reinforce the potential for a reaction of awe and beauty..... a celebration of life itself.

Unique and Contemporary Pet Portraits

Celebrate your pet with a unique contemporary portrait, to enhance your property. I have always been passionate about animals, especially dogs, they are so endearing, and from being a young child have loved to paint so it seemed perfect to combine the two.
I love to paint in acrylics, which are well suited to the colour and form of my subjects. Each painting is totally unique and is created to catch the personality and essence of each animal.
